Improving access to mental health services for the British Somali Community

At the BSMA, we are committed to improving access to mental health services for the UK Somali community.

A key part of this work is signposting the services that already exist—but are often hard to navigate or poorly understood.

This page provides interactive maps to help individuals, families, and community organisations more easily find and access the support they need. We are also actively developing further resources to reduce barriers and improve access across all stages of care.

Below you will find interactive maps of:

1) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in UK Cities with large British Somali communities

2) Key Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services across Greater London

Help us improve this service
These resources have been collated by our Mental Health Working Group (with special mention to Siham Omar, Asha Elmi and Ladan Osman).

If you’d like to support our work in improving mental health access for the Somali community, or if you have updates, corrections, or new services to add to the map, please get in touch with us at info@thebsma.org. Together, we can build a more inclusive and accessible mental health system.
